Hi, John with etrailer. Today we have a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. We're gonna be taking a look at and installing the Roadmaster Tow Bar wiring kit. Now keep in mind, if you do decide that you want a flat tow, there are five components that you're gonna need, you're gonna need the base plate, you're gonna need the Tow Bar, you're gonna need the Tow Bar wiring which will help you with the breaking system or the lights on your vehicle. You need a braking system and you need safety cables. So, this system ties into the vehicle's electrical system so that when you're flat towing, it's gonna mimic, your turn signals and your brake lights and taillights from your RV to the back of your vehicle. more

Today on our 2009 Volkswagen Jetta, we'll be taking a look at and installing the Road Master Universal High-Powered Diode Wiring Kit, part number RN-152. Go ahead and test out our tail lights. Right turn signal. Left turn signal. Right brake, and left brake. First thing we're going to to on our vehicle is open up the hood, that way we can locate the battery and know where to run our wires. Now, our vehicle already has a base plate installed, so we'll go ahead and run our wires from our adapter point, up behind the grill, and then we're going to make a pig tail up here in the engine compartment, in case if they want to put in a supplemental braking system later. We'll first go ahead and run our wires up into the top part of the grill from the bottom side of the grill down here where the base plate's at. more
